| The big three social media platforms |
Instagram:
- Influencer: Posting Content sponsored by brands. Brands
will pay based on number of followers $800 - 1500 for 25-50k followers. $1500 –
2000 for 50 – 100k followers. The increments keep increasing as the amount
listed is the amount the brand will pay for each sponsored post. With the
famous Kylie Jenner making around $1.2 MILLION per post with 141 million
followers.
- Affiliate Marketer: Influencers can also sell products not just
advertise them. A lot of these brands will provide them with a promo code to
give out for whatever product they are selling and give the influencer a commission
for each sale of that item.
- Entrepreneur: An influencer who has amassed a large following can simply begin selling their own products to their followers.
YouTube:
- YouTube Partner: To become a YouTube partner, they must get a minimum
of 4,000 video watch hours and have 1,000 subscribers. A partner can have ads
in their videos which they can make money from those ads. Ad revenue on average
is $1 for every 1,000 views.
- Product Placements: A YouTube can simply make a
short mention or go into detail about a product and that company will pay them from
about $20 to $50 for every couple thousand views.
- Affiliate: Just like from Instagram a YouTuber can use affiliate links to send subscribers to products that can be purchased, and that YouTuber can be paid a commission per sale. Amazon is a company that has YouTube affiliates and Amazon gives an 8-10% commission for each sale that used the affiliate link.
Lastly TikTok:
- TikTok has live sessions where followers can
give gifts which turn into diamonds that go directly into a PayPal account.
- Similarly,
to Instagram and YouTube companies can pay influencers to showcase and advertise
their products and pay them for the number of followers and/or views.
- Companies
can also pay influencers to create videos for the companies TikTok account.
Loren Gray who is an influencer on TikTok made $2.6 MILLION because she has a
Revlon deal where
she creates videos for them and makes her own sponsored posts. - As a lot of the most popular influencers on TikTok get a high following they can begin to sell their own products and advertise them to their followers.
